Emergency services raced to the Llandrinio area on Tuesday (February 22) afternoon after the man was reported missing.

He was believed to have been in a tractor caught up in the floodwaters which have covered much of the area as the River Severn broke its banks following Storm Franklin.

The National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter based at Hawarden near Chester was deployed at around 5.20pm and was the man was quickly located.

A spokesperson for the NPAS said: “The NPAS helicopter was deployed from our base at Hawarden at 5.22pm on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 to assist in the search for a missing person, who, it was believed, may have been in a tractor caught up in flood water on the outskirts of Llandrinio.
