On Sunday evening, H-30, one of CHP’s fleet of H-125’s responded with Ross Valley Fire, Marin County Fire Medic 95, and the Marin County Water District to the report of an injured hiker on the Azalea Hill Road (single track trail) according to their Facebook page.
CHP was able to locate the hiker with GPS coordinates provided by Woodacre Dispatch. As firefighters hiked to the patient, H-30 prepared for a hoist. H-30 lowered a CHP Flight Officer/Paramedic to the scene, placed the hiker into a rescue harness, and hoisted the hiker to Medic 95’s location.
The hiker was transported to a local hospital by Medic 95 for treatment. This was the 88th person rescued by CHP Golden Gate Division in 2023.
