LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – High above Lincoln, the watchful eyes of the tactical flight officers from Nebraska State Patrol, Lincoln Police and Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office are patrolling the city.
They’re part of a program that’s not even a year old, aiming to help officers on the ground and keep them and the public safe.
That could involve taking over active vehicle pursuits, assisting and conducting surveillance on other missions, or helping search for a missing person.
There is a total of 15 TFOs from the different agencies.
