An injured skier was rescued with the help of helicopters from the California Highway Patrol and NAS Lemoore.

The Mono County Sheriff Search and Rescue Team learned about the skier just after 1:00 p.m. near the Dana Plateau in the Sierra just south of Tioga Pass.

CHP – Central Division Air Operations H-40 in Fresno was requested to assist in the rescue.

When H-40 arrived at Lee Vining Airport in Mono County it picked up medical Team 1 and they made multiple passes below and above an area known as Cocaine Chute until the people were located.
